Moving Meditations
In 2022, during month of august I participated in 3d community challenge. Among thousands of submissions 100 were the chosen ones to be included into a 11 min.
video montage. My work was one of them.
Here you will find a short breakdown on how I achieved this.
Main concept: "In 2085, self-aware androids and advanced machines have taken over the Latvian countryside. Human labor is scarce in these restricted rural areas, where only automated machinery can be found planting and harvesting crops for human consumption. Humanity now live in overpopulated cities mostly spending time in virtual worlds, global universal income is in place.
Androids are owned by industrial magnates and their families."
Based on this image the model of the android head was created and later textured. It has a serial number and the name. Abava is the name of one of the rivers in Latvia.
Following the same image folk dress was made. It took a while until I reached sastifactory result in cloth simulation, but when that was ready I assembled all together and added materials and textures.
Harvest machinery was modeled and kit-bashed from the ground up based on reference concept image. Metal pipes were from Ian Hubert's pipe collection. Name of the machine "Gauja" is also a name of the river in Latvia.
